List of PUGs which are already partnering with Kickoo:
If you are the member of a PUG which is not yet "partnering" with us, just ask the coordinator to contact us.
If you are looking for a Palm User Group in your area, you should go to InterPUG's website.
Why are we looking for partnerships with PUGs and what does it mean?
We try to be present on most popular web sites, forums and mailing lists, but there is a kind of people we will never reach, doing this: those who don't have internet access!
There is a lot of people, worldwide, who don't have a convenient access to internet or may have one but don't care about frequently visiting Palm related websites to know what's new...
By partnering with local PUGs, and offering free licences, we try to make more people know about our products: it's in fact a kind of advertising.
So, what's the deal?
Simple: we offer free licences of our products at every meetings the PUG have!
There is also other advantages, like beeing able to have access to beta versions of a work in progress.
We may also give special versions of our software, like a version of TakTik working like a registered one for the duration of the meeting and allowing every present member to play via IR or bluetooth (which mean a tournament may be organised during the meeting), and so on...
How many licences are offered and who decide who get them?
The number of licences offered depend on the number of people present during the meeting: we will not offer 10 licences if there is only 5 members at the meeting, nor we will offer 3 if there are 100 members!
The number of licences we offer is something about 10% of present members: 1 for up to 10 members, 2 for up to 20 members and so on...
It's up to the coordinator of each PUG to choose how the licences will be won: it can be a random pick, a contest or whatever he decide.
And the winners will be able to choose which product they want, between the ones that we have already released.
What are we expecting in return?
Nothing, or almost: just having a note, somewhere on the PUG's website and/or on the meeting digest explaining that Kickoo is "partnering" with the PUG and offering free licences at each meeting, with a link to our website (in fact the same kind of thing we are doing on this page, with a link to every PUG's website).
Of course, if some PUG's coordinator want to do more, like presenting our products during the meeting, displaying a banner on their site and so on, they are welcome, but they don't have to!
As you can see, PUG's have nothing to loose, the only trouble they may have is dealing with more members at the next meeting! ;-)
